Opened in 1989 by C Dennis Scott, one of the founders of the Ovation Brand, formerly known as Buffets, Inc. Hometown Buffet was initially not a part of the Ovation Brand as it was a personal venture of Scott after gaining some experience. However, in 1996, Hometown Buffet was merged with Old Country Buffet. Some stores of the latter chain were rebranded and turned into Hometown Buffet locations.

At its peak, about 250 Hometown Buffet locations are found all over the US. Today, only 33 remain. 25 of them are found in South California alone while the rest are found in other states.

If you’re looking for a classic all-you-can-eat restaurant experience, then a visit to Hometown Buffet would satisfy you. They offer food that everyone is familiar with, so it’s perfect for family outings. With their selection, no one will be left wanting.
